Ordering
Search a part number, call your account manager, or set a standing order. Most of Southern California sits on a regular route, which means a delivery day rather than a lead-time estimate.
Three ways to order
By part number
Every invoice carries a part number, and that number is searchable on this site. Type it into the search box on any page and the product comes straight up with its pack sizes and documents.
By phone
Call (818) 504-3355. Your account manager has your order history and can repeat a previous order without you reading part numbers down the phone. This is still how most orders are placed, and there is nothing wrong with that.
By email
Send the product and quantity to cs@mileschemical.com. If it matches something you have ordered before we confirm it against that record rather than asking you to re-specify it.
Standing orders
If you consume a product on a predictable cycle, a standing order removes the reordering step entirely. We schedule the delivery, you adjust or skip it as needed, and stock-outs stop being a thing that happens on a Friday afternoon.
For bulk and tote customers we can go further and schedule against tank level rather than against a calendar. Ask your account manager whether your volumes justify it — sometimes they do not, and we will say so.
Delivery
Most of Southern California sits on a regular route served by our own trucks and hazmat-endorsed drivers. Outside the route area we ship common carrier, and we will tell you honestly whether the freight makes sense for the order size.
If your site has specific gate, escort, or check-in requirements, tell us when the order is placed and we will brief the driver — rather than have them discover it at your gate with a placarded load.
Changing pack size
Moving up from drums to totes, or totes to bulk, usually improves the unit price and cuts handling. The crossover point is often lower than people expect. Ask us to price both before you decide.
What your site needs on delivery day
Most delivery problems are receiving problems, and all of them are avoidable with a short conversation before the truck rolls.
Someone to sign
A person authorised to receive the load and sign the paperwork, available during the delivery window.
Access and equipment
Clear space for the pack size ordered. A 275 gallon tote needs a rated forklift and room to place it.
Compatible storage ready
Containment in place and a location that keeps the product away from anything it reacts with.
Site requirements told to us
Gate procedures, escorts, PPE rules, appointment systems — tell us at order time, not at the gate.
If something arrives wrong
Call (818) 504-3355 before anything moves. A regulated product cannot simply be sent back on the truck it arrived on — returns need their own classification and paperwork, and we will arrange it properly.
