Who we are
Miles Chemical Company has become a market-leading chemical services company for metal manufacturing and surface finishing, electronics and semiconductor, food and beverage, nutritional, personal care, industrial, and municipal and industrial water treatment.
Our business segments include chemical distribution, environmental services covering waste transportation, decontamination and demolition support and emergency response, and supply chain services covering third-party logistics and liquid and dry chemical blending.
We recognise that our customers' quality depends in part on the quality of their suppliers. That is the argument behind every certification we hold, every batch record we keep, and every Certificate of Analysis we issue.
What that means in practice
It means the person who answers the phone can price the item, check stock, and tell you the next delivery day to your area — because they are looking at the same system the driver and the warehouse are.
It means a question about a lot delivered eighteen months ago can still be answered, because the batch record and the retained sample still exist.
And it means we will tell you when a product you are asking for is not the right one, when a competitor has a genuine route advantage to your area, or when the honest answer is that you already have what you need. A customer who feels oversold does not stay one.
The laboratory
The analytical laboratory in Arleta does three jobs. It releases every blended batch against its specification. It supports customers with bath analysis and troubleshooting — send a sample, get titration results and a recommended addition schedule. And it develops formulations, whether that is matching a product you already buy or building something to a performance requirement you have not been able to meet.
Most of our plating and water treatment customers use the analysis service monthly. It catches the drift that produces a scrap batch, and it is a great deal cheaper than the scrap.
Audited, not asserted
Both certifications are verified by third-party audit. Current certificates are available on request, and customers are welcome to audit us — several do annually.
ISO 9001:2015
Quality management covering blending, distribution, and laboratory services. Documented procedures, traceable batch records, calibrated instruments, and corrective action — audited by a third party rather than claimed.
NACD Responsible Distribution
The National Association of Chemical Distributors management-system standard: supplier selection, product stewardship, storage, transport, training, emergency response, and community awareness.
