This page covers what that means for your receiving dock and your paperwork.<\/p>\n<h2>Shipping classification<\/h2>\n<p>Each regulated product carries a UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class, and packing group. Those four items appear in Section 14 of the safety data sheet and on the shipping paper that travels with the load.<\/p>\n<p>Common classifications in our catalogue include Class 8 corrosives (acids and caustics), Class 5.1 oxidizers (hydrogen peroxide, sodium chlorite), and Class 3 flammable liquids (alcohols and some solvents).<\/p>\n<h2>What you need at the dock<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Someone available to sign for the delivery who is authorised to do so<\/li>\n<li>Enough clear space to receive the pack size ordered \u2014 a 275 gallon tote needs forklift access and a rated forklift<\/li>\n<li>Secondary containment if your permit or local code requires it for the material<\/li>\n<li>Compatible storage available before the truck arrives, not after<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Placarding and vehicle requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Our drivers hold current hazmat endorsements and the equipment is placarded to the load. If your site has specific gate, escort, or check-in requirements, tell us when the order is placed and we will brief the driver rather than have them discover it at your gate.<\/p>\n<h2>Employee training<\/h2>\n<p>If your staff load, unload, or handle regulated material, DOT training requirements likely apply to them. That obligation sits with the employer, not with us \u2014 but we are happy to point you toward what applies to your operation.<\/p>\n<h2>Returns and rejected loads<\/h2>\n<p>A product cannot simply be sent back on the truck it arrived on. Regulated returns need their own paperwork and classification.
