Section 2 \u2014 Hazard identification.<\/strong> Signal word, hazard statements, and pictograms. This is the section to read before a product is handled for the first time.<\/p>\n Section 4 \u2014 First aid measures.<\/strong> Post this at the point of use. It is the section someone needs while they are already in trouble, which is the worst moment to be searching a PDF.<\/p>\n Section 8 \u2014 Exposure controls and personal protection.<\/strong> Exposure limits and the PPE actually required. Glove material matters here; not all nitrile is equal against all solvents.<\/p>\n Section 9 \u2014 Physical and chemical properties.<\/strong> pH, specific gravity, flash point, boiling point. This is where most process engineering questions get answered.<\/p>\n Section 10 \u2014 Stability and reactivity.<\/strong> Incompatible materials. Read this before deciding what gets stored next to what \u2014 most storage incidents trace back to this section being skipped.<\/p>\n Section 14 \u2014 Transport information.<\/strong> UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class, and packing group. Required for any shipping paperwork you generate.<\/p>\n An SDS is a controlled document. Section 16 carries the revision date, and a sheet more than a few years old may not reflect the current classification. The sheets on this site are the current revision for the product as we supply it.<\/p>\n If you hold an older sheet in a binder and the revision dates differ, use ours and replace the binder copy.<\/p>\n An SDS is not a specification. It gives typical properties and hazard information, not the guaranteed analytical values for the lot you received \u2014 that is what a Certificate of Analysis is for.
